"When I am afraid, I will trust in You, I will trust in You, I will trust in you.  When I am afraid, I will trust in You, in God whose Word I praise..."

I first heard this song when my children were preschoolers in children's church.  It became my song whenever I was afraid.  It is my song when I am afraid now.  While this little song may comfort me in the moment, it is the Lord who truly protects me.
Psalm 121 is one of 15 psalms designated as a "Song of Ascents."  These songs were sung by priests or pilgrims in their ascent to worship. They all reflect hope in God. 
Read the complete psalm below.  God protects His people.  There is no need to be afraid.

​Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?  
My help comes from the Lord,  who made heaven and earth.   
He will not let your foot be moved;  He who keeps you will not slumber. 
Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.  
The Lord is your keeper;  the Lord is your shade on your right hand.  
The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. 
The Lord will keep you from all evil;  He will keep your life.  
The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in 
from this time forth and forevermore.
