2/2/2023 0 Comments HosannaThe next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” John 12:12-13 I wonder if the palm branches that were cut down and laid on the road that day looked like this one a week later. A week later, joy, adoration, and praise (the meaning of Hosanna) had been replaced by anger, fear and sorrow. Fortunately, this wasn't the end of the story. Jesus willingly laid down His life for us, then rose again, so that we might be saved.
A few short months after this picture was taken, Fort Myers Beach was destroyed by Hurricane Ian. Joy was replaced with anger, fear and sorrow. Fortunately, this isn't the end of the story. Lord, help us remember that even when our circumstances change, we can find joy in You.
