Beginnings

This is real. Now is the time.
I know I am an author
and I want to be published,
but these are unfamiliar waters.
Yes, surely the water is getting deeper
and I sometimes think
I'm in over my head.
I don't mind if you know that.
I'm not a rush-into-things person.
I knock on doors.
I wait. I pray. I move forward.
This has always worked wonderfully for me in the past.
I don't see why I should stop now.
What is the next step?
